NEVER TOO
LATE TO
LEARN
TEEN/ADULT SWIM LESSONS:
It is never too late to take the plunge. Learn the basics such as breathing, kicking, floating and the front crawl along with some water safety instruction.
YMCA AQUATICS
The Y has over 100 years of experience in providing swim lessons and promoting water safety and the Y is a leading advocate for and educator of water safety in central Kentucky. Through free community programs such as Splash and No Horsin' Around, the Y strives to teach parents and children about the importance of safety in and around the water.
Our philosophy is to provide the community with the resources to enjoy a safe active lifestyle through our aquatic programs. Our group swim lesson program is a progressive program that teaches Personal Safety, Personal Growth, Stroke Development, Rescue Techniques, and Water Sports and Games in order to give each individual a positive and rewarding experience. Our goal is to prove quality instruction to all swimmers through core character values that will allow them to grow in spirit, mind and body.
Y Aquatic Facility – Severe Weather Policy
If severe weather occurs while the pool is open, the supervisor on duty will determine if there is an imminent threat, and will instruct the lifeguard to clear the pool. The pool must remain clear for 30 minutes after the last thunder and/or lightning.
