55 Children Receive Free Bikes and Books at YMCA

The Bluegrass Cycling Club, in collaboration with a team of community partners, gave away 55 free bikes to area children ages 6-13 on December 13 at the North Lexington Family YMCA. The children, who were pre-selected by Big Brothers/Big Sisters, each received a new bike, helmet, book and participanted in a bike rodeo to learn how to enjoy their new bikes safely.

Joining the Bluegrass Cycling Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the YMCA of Central Kentucky in this collaboration were the American Red Cross, Brain Injury Prevention, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Georgetown College.
