YMCA Black Achievers Hosts Evening with the Eagles at North Lexington YMCA
The YMCA Black Achievers program and the North Lexington Family YMCA are hosting “Evening with the Eagles” on Tuesday, September 21 from 6-8 p.m. at the North Lexington Family YMCA, located at 381 W. Loudon Avenue. This event will give local students the opportunity to learn more about Morehead State University, which will be represented by alumni as well as staff from financial aid, admissions and academic departments. Attendees will have a chance to enter a drawing for a $1,000 housing scholarship applicable to Morehead State University housing.
Morehead State University is a partnering institution with YMCA Black Achievers and frequently provides scholarships to Black Achievers participants.
The Black Achievers program, which has been serving central Kentucky since 1985, is open to students in Fayette and surrounding counties. YMCA Black Achievers endeavors to provide exposure to present and future educational/career opportunities, instill positive social values, ignite students’ thirst for knowledge, enable students to reach their full potential by creating opportunities for adults and the community to participate in their lives, and empower families to assist students in reaching higher goals.
