The Lexington Police Department, Lexington Public Library and the Central Kentucky YMCA will host a series of workshops, “Survival Skills for Community Frontline Workers and Concerned Citizens Series.” July 7: Personal Safety/Crime Prevention; July 8: Gang Awareness; July 9: Work Place Violence. All three workshops will be held at the Lexington Public Library/Central Library, 140 East Main Street from 2-4 p.m.. These workshops are free and open to the public. Beginning July 1, the Farmers Market will be held in the Health Department parking lot on Loudon Avenue from 3-6 p.m. So come out and buy locally grown.
On July 10, the Una tarde infantil will be held at the Valley Park from 1-5 p.m.. There will be activities for the family food music and prizes. This event is free and open to the public.
The YMCA will have a display table at the Macy’s store in Fayette Mall July 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to promote the Reading Is Fundamental store coupon sale. This event helps raise money to fund the local RIF program to give out books to children in need.
On July 22 from 12-3 p.m. there will be a health fair at the House of God on Georgetown Street. This event is free and open to the public.
