  • The Lexington Police Department, Lexington Public Library and the Central Kentucky YMCA will host a series of workshops, “Survival Skills for Community Frontline Workers and Concerned Citizens Series.” July 7:  Personal Safety/Crime Prevention; July 8: Gang Awareness; July 9: Work Place Violence. All three workshops will be held at the Lexington Public Library/Central Library, 140 East Main Street from 2-4 p.m.. These workshops are free and open to the public.   • Beginning July 1, the Farmers Market will be held in the Health Department parking lot on Loudon Avenue from 3-6 p.m. So come out and buy locally grown.
     
  • On July 10, the Una tarde infantil will be held at the Valley Park from 1-5 p.m.. There will be activities for the family food music and prizes. This event is free and open to the public.
     
  • The YMCA will have a display table at the Macy’s store in Fayette Mall July 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to promote the Reading Is Fundamental store coupon sale. This event helps raise money to fund the local RIF program to give out books to children in need.
     
  • On July 22 from 12-3 p.m. there will be a health fair at the House of God on Georgetown Street. This event is free and open to the public.
