YMCA Camps provide a safe and fun environment for children to challenge themselves, develop new skills and build new friendships. Daily activities are designed around a weekly theme, but our curriculum is dedicated to increasing two very important things: 1) Children’s physical activity and knowledge of healthy lifestyles and 2) children’s Developmental Assets®.
What are Developmental Assets®? The Search Institute® has determined that there are 40 developmental assets, or building blocks, that children need in their lives to grow up healthy, caring and responsible. You can find more information on our camp Parent Tables or at
www.search-institute.org
Campers will have a morning period of physical activity each day, in addition to the day’s organized games and free outdoor play. Healthy snacks are served daily and weekly activities focus on the importance of good nutrition.
Caring, experienced and well-trained staff guide campers through their day and build strong relationships with them while helping them to form new friendships. All staff are carefully chosen after completing an extensive interview and background process.
